There are different types of elections in Philippines, mainly can be classified in to two types they are National Elections and Local Elections. From the year 1992, both the National and Local Elections are held on every second Monday of May once in every three years, whereas the Presidential Elections are held once in every six years because the President and the Vice President of Philippines term is for six years.

National Elections:

In Philippines National Elections include the Presidential Elections, Senate Elections, and House of Representatives Elections.

Presidential Elections:

Presidential Elections include electing the President as well as Vice President. The President of Philippines country serves a six term and the Vice President too. The Presidential Elections in Philippines country will be held once in every six years. The last Presidential Election was held in May 2016 so next Presidential Election will be held in May 2022.

Senate Elections:

The Filipino Senate has 24 seats, the Senate Elections in Philippines will be held once in 3 years on second Monday of May. In every Filipino Senate Election 12 Senators are elected. The term of the Senator will be for 3 years. The eligible Filipino voters must vote 12 votes during the senate elections. The next Senator Elections in Philippines will be held on 13th May 2019.

House of Representatives Elections:

The Philippines Congress has two chambers, first one is House of Representatives, the Filipino House of Representatives have 292 seats, out of these 292 seats 234 seats will be contested in single seat electoral districts ad the remaining 58 seats will be contested on Party lists. The last House of Representatives election was held in May 2016. The next House of Representatives Elections will be held on 13th May 2019 to form the 18th Filipino Congress.

Local Elections:

Filipino local elections include Governor Elections, Provincial Member Elections, Mayor Elections, City and Municipal Councilor Elections, and Youth Councilor Member Elections. The Filipino Voter can vote any one Governor, one Vice-Governor, up to 7 Provincial Board members, One Mayor, One Vice-Mayor, up to 12 City or Municipality Council Members.

Each Province in Philippines country is represented by a Governor and a Vice-Governor. During the Governor Elections both Governor and Vice-Governor are elected. The Governor Elections in Philippines are held once in every 3 years. The term of both Governor and the Vice-governor will be for three years. The last Governor elections were held in May 2016.
