The Indian Election Commission has declared the General Elections schedule for the year 2019 today i.e. on 10/3/2019. According to the schedule the elections are to be held in seven phases for the 543 Lok Sabha Constituencies. The first Phase of Lok Sabha General Elections will be held on 11th April 2019 while the last Phase of General Elections will be held on 19th May 2019. The General Elections results will be announced on 23rd May 2019.

The Indian Parliament elections will be held once in 5 years because the Parliament term in India will be for 5 years. The 16th Parliament term will be completed by the March so the Election Commission of India released the Lok Sabha Election Schedule for the 17th Parliament. There are 545 MP seats in Indian Parliament out of these 545 Lok Sabha Constituencies 543 are elected by the eligible voters of India and the remaining 2 Lok Sabha seats are nominated by the President of India.

2019 Lok Sabha Elections Highlights:

Lok Sabha Constituencies of Telangana

Telangana is the 29th State and the youngest State of India, The Telangana State has 17 Lok Sabha Constituencies, in the 17 Constituencies 3 Lok Sabha Constituencies are reserved for the scheduled castes and 2 Lok Sabha Constituencies are reserved for the scheduled tribes and the remaining 12 Lok Sabha Constituencies are in General Category. The 2014 General Elections for the 16th Lok Sabha and the first General Election in the newly formed Telangana State, 9 Lok Sabha Constituency seats were won by the TRS party whereas the TDP Party and YSR Congress Party shared 1 seat each.

Telangana is the youngest and the 29th State of India which was formed in the year 2014. After the bifurcation Telangana from the Andhra Pradesh State, Telangana faced first General Elections for both Lok Sabha and the first Legislative Assembly elections in the year 2014. After the new State formation, the first ever General Elections were held in 2014, the TRS party won 10 seats, the Indian National Congress party won 2 seats, BJP won 1 seat, YSRCP won 1 seat, MIM won 1 seat and TDP won 1 seat respectively. Last month the Telangana State had the second Legislative Assembly Elections; there are 119 Assembly Constituencies and 17 Lok Sabha Constituencies in Telangana State. Out of 119 Assembly Constituencies, TRS party won 88 seats and formed the Government for the second time in Telangana State whereas the Indian National Congress party won 19 seats, MIM won 7 seats, TDP won 2 seats, BJP won 1 seat and the others won 2 seats.
